Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs and requires pre-employment and random drug screening.
This position requires the incumbent to pass pre-appointment and subsequent periodic medical examinations IAW DoD 6055.5M to determine fitness for continued performance of the duties of the position.
This position requires the incumbent to participate in a cardiovascular physical fitness program.
This position requires the incumbent to wear a uniform and safety apparel in accordance with established policies and procedures.
This position requires a valid state and government's driver's license.
Incumbent is required to work 60 hours per week (120 hours bi-weekly) which may include at least one 24-hour shift and may include working nights, weekends, and holidays.
This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
This is a mission essential position.
Incumbent has six months from date of employment to transfer State Emergency Medical Tech certs to National Registry Emergency Medical Technician. Must maintain current Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (CPR and AED) certification card.
Incumbent must obtain DoD, IFSAC, or Pro-Board Certifications for Apparatus Driver/Operator – Pumper and Apparatus Driver Operator- Mobile Water Supply (MWS) within one year from date of employment.
This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
Employee must maintain current Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (CPR and AED) certification card.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes1) developing training requirements in accordance with fire prevention guidelines; 2) preparing lesson plans and summaries for general training; 3) performing firefighting activities, search and rescue, crash/rescue operations, responding to HAZMAT incidents and responding to medical emergencies. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
