Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD1907000 and is part of the TN ARMY Army National Guard. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Preplacement Medical Requirements: Selectee will be required to undergo medical testing, at the expense of the government, prior to beginning employment. Medical tests are used to determine fitness and eligibility for employment. Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility. For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. Current on out-state tractor/trailer height/weight requirements and on HAZMAT and OSHA requirements. Must have operator maintenance ability for all types of equipment and have a Commercial Driver License. Current on all types of loading equipment (forklifts, cranes, winch systems). Must be able to drive long distances, remain overnight at various locations, as necessary, and work during weekends and periods outside of the normal workday. Qualifications Military Grades: E-4 through E-7 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrate the ability to follow instructions and safely operate the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 12 months experience or training which demonstrate the ability to operate one or more motor vehicles including platform trucks, van trucks, fuel trucks, stake trucks, dump trucks, and trash removal trucks which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight of more than 11,700 kilograms (26,000 pounds) and up to 14,400 kilograms (less than 32,000 pounds). Experience operating vehicles and tractors, some of which may be equipped with special-purpose powered equipment. Experience operating platform, van, stake and dump trucks, refueling vehicles passenger buses or ambulance buses.
