Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Military Intelligence Readiness Command, Northeast, Army Reserve Intelligence Center, Training Support Command located at Fort Dix, New Jersey. Learn more about this agency Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter. Must be able to obtain the SFPC certification; as mandated by the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program, within the first two years of employment, and yearly SPeD certifications, thereafter. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a Single-scope background investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented Information (SCI). In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes the following 1) experience with security directly related to the submission of security investigations; 2) the review of an individual's clearance level; 3) the classification/declassification of sensitive documents/information; 4) the storage of classified information; 5) conducting security briefings; 6) coordinating access/movement of foreign visitors; 7) conducting security inspections/orientations; and 8) developing/implementing personnel security policies and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GG-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Classification Management Foreign Disclosure Industrial Security Information Security Operations Security Personnel Security Security Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement. Additional information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Two year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management. Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance. Incumbent (or Selectee) is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoD Publication 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, dated 19 December 2005 (incorporating Change 1, 15 May 2008). This is a Security position that requires DoD Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) certifications. Selectees are required to sign a Statement of Understanding. If selected, your signature on the Statement of Understanding will indicate that you understand and agree with the condition(s) of employment for the position for which you are accepting and that failure to obtain and continuously maintain the required certification(s) may result in administrative action, including removal, from the position. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
