Summary
This position is part of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Office of External Affairs (OEA). As a Public Affairs Specialist, this position will support OEA's work on multiple fronts by delivering events that build DFC's reputation and existing relationships with stakeholders throughout the investment, diplomatic, think tank, non-governmental organizations (NGO), private sector, thought leader, and policymaking community.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements no later than the closing date of this announcement.
You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability in:
1) Identifying tone, conversation points and setting discussion ground rules at events for senior leadership.
2) Preparing senior leadership for high level events including briefing principal on content of event discussion.
3) Developing and coordinating new external engagement strategies, plans, and opportunities.
4) Engaging in proactive communication and establishing working relationships with key external stakeholders in areas such as finance, investment, national security, foreign policy, other government agencies, diplomats, think tanks, non-governmental organizations (NGO), private sector, thought leaders, and policymakers.
5) Representing the organization at meetings designed to synchronize senior leader communications and engagements.
You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability in:
1) Strategically identifying the appropriate tone, key conversation points, and establishing discussion protocols for events involving senior leadership to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
2) Preparing senior leadership for high-level events by meticulously briefing principals on the content and context of discussions, ensuring they are well-informed and strategically positioned.
3) Providing strategic leadership and oversight over external affairs programs, ensuring alignment with organizational strategic goals and enhancing its public profile.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
