Summary
About the Position: this position is located at the Operations & Maintenance Department Public Works, Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Virginia.
Joint Base Myer is a 15-minute commute to/from Arlington National Cemetery Metro Station, 10 to15 minute commute to/from Rosslyn, Virginia Metro Station, and is accessible by bus transportation. The installation is approximately 7 miles from Washington D.C. and a short distance from major roadways and express highways.

Conditions of Employment
Drives/transports passenger(s)/workmen more than once a week, and capable of carrying loads weighing up to, and including, 1-ton to transport material and equipment to work site.
Incumbent may be required to work on Saturday and/or Sunday - is subject to shift rotation and emergency 24-hour recall, as determined by the supervisor.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a current valid state or DC driver's license.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid government vehicle operator's license.
Position may require an annual medical surveillance exam.
Occasional TDY travel is required.
Drug test may be required.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position has heavy lifting requirements up to 50 lbs
Incumbent must be able to obtain, maintain and retain a valid government vehicle operator's license.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Maintenance Mechanic without more than normal supervision. I am skilled in performing variety of trades or craft duties involving the maintenance, repair and improvement of building, structures and related fixtures and utilities. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Efforts- Repairs and installations are made from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms in sometimes hard -to-reach places. Work requires standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and other uncomfortable positions. Incumbent must frequently handle, lift, carry and set up parts equipment that weigh up to 100 pounds.
Working Conditions-Work is done inside and outside, and is usually dirty, dusty, and greasy. Bad-smelling fumes are often present in areas where repairs and installations are made. Frequently exposed to the possibility of strains, cuts, scrapes, bruises, burns, and infections. Occasionally exposed to the possibility of broken bones. To reduce the dangers and irritations from exposure to harmful substances and conditions the employee follows prescribed safety practices and safety equipment such as protective ear devices, hard hats, hard-toe shoes, face masks, goggles, and protective clothing.

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
One year probationary period may be required.
Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.

Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
