DescriptionSummary:
A Registered Professional Dialysis Nurse is responsible for the delivery of
patient care through the process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
This position participates in the development and implementation of individualized and comprehensive
plan of care for each patient, provides direct and indirect care to patients as it relates to their
dialysis treatment, including pre- and post-assessments, and administrations of medications during
dialysis. In addition, the Registered Professional Dialysis Nurse operates all dialysis equipment
and supplies in accordance with hospital and departmental policy to provide expected patient outcome
and documents in the medical record accordingly.
CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Kleberg is a premier
medical facility found in a town known for its ranching history and rich in Texas culture in
Kingsville, Texas. Licensed for 100 beds, the hospital is a Level IV Trauma Center general acute
care facility offering complete Medical and Surgical Services including Pediatrics, Obstetrics and
Skilled Nursing, as well as, Emergency, Intensive Care, Cardiac and Comprehensive Diagnostic
Services serving the resident of Kleberg, Brooks, Kennedy and southern Nueces counties. CHRISTUS
Spohn Kleberg Plaza houses the hospital’s birthing services with modern, state-of-the-art
labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum rooms (LDRPs,) a nursery, the Cissy Horlock Taub Women’s Center
(a diagnostic and education/resource center) and physician office suites. Outpatient rehabilitation
services including occupational, and speech therapy, wound care, physical and aquatic therapy are

Requirements:
Graduate of a Registered Nursing program, Bachelor Degree
preferredExcellent customer service, negotiation and communication skillsAt least 6 months dialysis
experience preferred12 months acute clinical experience as a Registered Nurse requiredIntensive Care
Unit (ICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), Emergency Room (ER), or Medical Surgical (Med Surg) experience
is preferredClinical patient care experience in a relevant setting, preferredPrevious healthcare
management experience, preferredRN license in good standing in state of employment or a compact
state , if applicableRegistered Nurse (RN) requiredAmerican Heart Association Basic Life
SupportCertification in Nephrology Nursing preferredA Water Treatment Knowledge Exam- within twelve
(12) weeks of employmentA Hemodialysis Knowledge Exam- within twelve (12) weeks of
employmentCertification in Nephrology Nursing preferred, required within 1 year of eligibility to
take the exam
