Summary The position is in the Foreign Service Institute (FSI), School of Professional and Areas Studies (SPAS),Economic and Commercial Studies Division (ECON). Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F. Applicants must meet ONE of the required basic entry qualification requirements described below: BASIC REQUIREMENTS: A. Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to this position; OR B. Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, OR in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, PLUS appropriate experience OR additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in A above. Note: All applicants WILL BE required to submit transcripts as verification of educational requirement by the closing date of this announcement. You MUST (1) submit a copy of your college transcript(s) with your application, and if selected, an official college transcript(s) will be required to verify education prior to employment; (2) transcripts MUST be legible AND include your name, major, school name/location, course title/number, date completed, grade, and number of credits earned; (3) if your documents are on dark / color paper, you will need to Xerox them to lighten them up in order for us to read them. IN ADDITION to meeting one of the basic entry qualifications requirements listed above, you MUST have at least 1 year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: Experience designing and delivering educational programs for adults, including exercising significant and complex professional judgment affecting all phases of training. Experience applying best practices to training and development to create and deliver highly-effective training and educational programs for adults. Experience applying critical thinking in curriculum development, educational research, training evaluation and analysis to instructional systems design and innovative delivery methods to align with best practices and principles in adult learning theory.
