Summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Must obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license
Will be required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
The work requires regular field work which involves physical exertion.
This position includes regular and recurring exposure to hazards and conditions at construction sites or large hydropower projects.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. GS-7 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes learning theories, principles, concepts, standards, and/or methods of fundamental surveying of field data collection. (Must be well documented in resume to be considered). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-6).
GS-8 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience applying theories, principles, concepts, standards, and/or methods of fundamental surveying of field data collection. (Must be well documented in resume to be considered). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-7).
GS-9 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience applying theories, principles, concepts, standards, and/or methods of fundamental surveying, including basic topography or Unmanned Aerial Surveying. (Must be well documented in resume to be considered). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-8).
GS-10 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience applying theories, principles, concepts, standards, and/or methods of surveying with an emphasis in topographic surveying or Unmanned Aerial Surveying. (Must be well documented in resume to be considered). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-9).
GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience applying theories, principles, concepts, standards, and/or methods of surveying as they relate to topographic, Unmanned Aerial Surveying techniques, and public land surveying (e.g.) not Colonial metes and bounds). (Must be well documented in resume to be considered). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
One year trial/probationary period may be required.
Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
