Summary Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a IT Specialist (SYSADMIN). Make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment. Duty Location: Lower Colorado Dams Office located at the Hoover Dam in Clark County, NV. Full time telework or remote work not available for this position, if selected you will report to the Hoover Dam on a regular basis. Qualifications To be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume. To qualify at the GS-12, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-11 level in federal service having demonstrated experience defined as independently planning and carrying out a wide variety of independent IT troubleshooting duties regarding hardware and software; independently providing systems administration and support of systems and/or networks; and conducting research, analysis, development, and maintenance on systems; implements procedures, analyzes, and audits effectiveness of operating systems. In addition to specialized experience your resume must also include experience in each of the four following competencies. 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgement to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including any selective placement factors if applicable, by 01/02/2025. Education This position does not allow substituting education for experience. Additional information You may be required to serve an initial probationary period. Current, permanent Federal employees who are selected from this announcement may be required to serve a probationary period. This is not a virtual position. Reclamation has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and you may be allowed to telework with supervisory approval. Current Reclamation policy requires non-supervisory employees to report to the official duty station a minimum of at least 50 percent of their regularly scheduled tour of duty per pay period. Full time telework or remote work is not available for this position. Selectees must be eligible to telework under the 2010 Telework Act.
