Summary This is a Washington Army National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Bargaining Unit Technician position: AIRCRAFT FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR Location: Army Aviation Support Facility 2 East Wenatchee, Washington 98802 Army National Guard Units Appointment Type: Permanent, excepted service Advertised as: WARRANT OFFICER Your resume must contain your own words. Learn more about this agency Requirements Conditions of Employment MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Military Grades: CW2-CW4 Compatible Military Assignments: N/A - Must be qualified and current UH-72 Army Aviator. - Must have a minimum of 1500 hours total Army rotary wing flight. - Must be a graduate of the UH-72 instructor Pilot Course (IPC or IPC-T) - A hiring incentive may be available. - Applicants need not be assigned to the position or possess the MOS to apply or be considered for selection. Selected applicant must be assigned to a compatible Military position and attain MOS within 1 year of appointment action. - Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. - All soldiers, civilian employees, and contractor employees who drive Army-owned or leased vehicles must complete the Army Avoidance Course (AAC) training when they start working for the Army. Must have a valid Washington state and military driver's license. Must be able to obtain a Government Travel Card (GTC) and be able to attend all schools deemed necessary by the supervisor. - Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. - Must maintain membership in the WA Army National Guard for continued employment. - Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate (SECRET) security clearance of the position. - This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. - Position requires ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. - Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. - The duties and responsibilities of your job may significantly impact the environment. You are responsible to maintain awareness of your environmental responsibilities as dictated by legal and regulatory requirements, your organization, and its changing mission. - Prior to appointment, an applicant's military medical record must indicate a completed and current medical physical, flight physical, medical profile, and completed/cleared drug test. - Must not have record of claustrophobia or claustrophobic tendencies. Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: An applicant must have a competent understanding of the occupation's basic principles and concepts. Applicants should have a minimum of one year on-the-job experience in the grade (or a comparable military rank) immediately below the next higher level. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience that prepares the applicant to perform the Dual Status technician duties and responsibilities. To qualify, an applicant's educational-degree study program, military professional and technical training schools or academies, and aviation certifications may apply as substitutions for some specialized experience factors. Applicants must demonstrate the following specialized experience competencies (skills, knowledge, and abilities) to qualify for entry appointments to GS-2181-13 Army National Guard Dual Status Warrant Officer positions. Qualification competencies are determined by three factors: The aircraft operated; the nature and purpose of assignments; and the degree of hazard. For Army National Guard positions, must have working experiences in civilian aviation programs; or, in military service aviation programs (active duty or reserve components); or, in the Army National Guard Aviation Support facilities; or, in Air National Guard Wing/ Operations Groups. To qualify, the applicant must have at least two years specialized competencies in operating a specific main-frame military aircraft, mission planning, and mission preparation. Education Education Requirements: Must have a high school diploma or general education development (GED) diploma. An undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university is optimum. Must have Federal Aviation Administration certifications awarded from accredited civilian aviation programs or must have aviation certifications from accredited military aviation schools. Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Not Applicable. To receive credit for Education, you must provide transcripts or other documentation of proof to support your Educational claims. Additional information - If you are a male applicant who was born after 12/31/1959 and are required to register under the Military Selective Service Act, the Defense Authorization Act of 1986 requires that you be registered or you are not eligible for appointment in this agency (https://www.sss.gov/RegVer/wfRegistration.aspx). - Military Technicians are ineligible for enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses. Acceptance of a Technician position will terminate these incentives. - Military Technicians in the excepted service will wear the appropriate uniform while performing as a Technician. - Veteran's preference does not apply to National Guard Technician positions in accordance with Title 32 USC 709 (f).
