Summary This position is located at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA with Child and Youth Services. This is a Regular Full-Time position with a minimum work week of 40 hours. Meet qualification/eligibility/physical/background requirements for this position. Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations A one year probationary period may be required (either initially or upon conversion, if applicable). Successful completion of annual training requirements within the prescribed time frame and demonstrated on the job competence is required May be subject to an irregular hours, evening and or weekends Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) Check. Travel to on and off post locations may be required. Schedule may include irregular hours, evenings, and/or weekends. Duties involve working both indoors and outdoors. Must have the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs, walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation. Maintenance of current license as a Registered Nurse. Must obtain and maintain credentials to instruct staff in administration of CPR/First Aid. Incumbent is a mandated reporter of all suspected incidents of child abuse/neglect. Qualifications Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant. Must have active, current registration as a professional nurse (RN) in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to the above, applicants must have at least one of the following: 1. One year of specialized experience equivalent in scope and complexity to the next lower grade level 2. Two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education or a master's or equivalent degree in the field of nursing. Highly qualified candidates will submit resumes that reflect experience in pediatric nursing and/or working with children/youth with special needs. Applicants with the following experience are encouraged to apply: 1. Previous experience working for Child and Youth Services. 2. At least 1 year experience as a Pediatric Nurse or School Nurse. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600. Incentives and bonuses Incentives will not be paid.
