Summary
This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), Facilities and Property Management Division. This position serves as the Assistant Chief, and is responsible for planning and directing comprehensive programs for the operation, repair, maintenance and improvement of the Archives 1 National Archives Building. The building is situated on a 5-acre site maintained by NARA. Ground maintenance includes all plants, lawns, trees, roads, and walkways.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Must successfully complete a background investigation.

The work is primarily sedentary, although there is some walking, bending, and carrying of moderately heavy objects. Considerable time is spent at construction and alteration sites. The work is quite stressful and at times requires intense concentration of working at top speed.

Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-13 you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
Supervising or managing staff responsible for building operations or functions; AND
Utilizing Contract Administration functions, such as project budgeting, reviewing cost estimates and proposals, issuing notices to proceed, or developing scopes of work; AND
Planning, estimating, scheduling, and/or evaluating various maintenance repair or renovation projects.
