Summary
This job opportunity is for an AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER, position description D0826000, within the 108th OG of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position.
The purpose of this position is to serve as an Aircrew Flight Equipment technician in the Air Operations Division with responsibility for ensuring shop equipment is properly maintained.

Conditions of Employment
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
Areas of Consideration: CAT 4:
Individuals eligible for membership in the New Jersey Air National Guard
Military Grades: SrA/E-4 to MSgt/ E-7
Selectee has one (1) year to obtain required AFSC
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory
May be required to successfully complete a probationary period
Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation
Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service
Qualifications
General Experience:
Must have the following experiences:
Using Materials and equipment (helmets, torso harness assemblies, parachutes, survival equipment)
Understanding written instructions
Using reference materials and manuals
Specialized Experience:
Prefer 18 months of the following experiences:
Aviation life support equipment
Reading and interpreting military manuals
Supply procedures and property accountability
Collecting information and presenting it to various sized groups
Planning a functional shop maintenance program is essential
Education

Security Clearance
Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance within 1(One) Year of appointment.
