Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least 6 months of general experience and 6 months of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-03 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that involved the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; or maintaining order and protecting life. Such experience must have provided knowledge of protective systems and techniques. Examples of specialized experience may include: Prohibiting unauthorized personnel from accessing secured areas to maintain security. Allowing entrance to persons and vehicles with proper authorizations. Monitoring and authorizing the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises. Confirming facilities, locks, alarms, fences, gates, or other barriers are closed/locked or open/unlocked depending on the time of day and the conditions that apply. Monitoring alarms for the safety of personnel, equipment, and facilities. Assessing visitor needs to make recommendations based on visitor input. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education You may qualify on the basis of education if you have successfully completed at least two (2) full academic years of education above high school. If you are using education to meet all or part of the qualification requirements, you must submit a copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of college courses which includes equivalent information from the transcript (course title, semester/quarter hours, and grade/degree earned) in your resume. Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications (https://www.ed.gov/). Additional information This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position requires rotating shift work. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
