Summary You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist (CUSTSPT) in the Hopper Global Communication Center, Operations Dept. (ISN3), Services Division (ISCN33) of HOPPER GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS CENTER. All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. Learn more about this agency Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing. Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326. All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position may require a 2-Year DCIPS trial period requirement. This position has been designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position in specialty area 41. You are required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2. Qualifications I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GG/GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Serve as IT Services Customer Support Technician reporting incidents and recording problems; 2) Assist in assessing the impact, cost, benefit, and risk of proposed problems; 3) Apply problem management principles and policies; 4) Follow established incident management policy, plans, and procedures; 5) Employ standardized methods and procedures for efficient and prompt handling of all incidents and problems to minimize the impact of any related incidents upon service; 6) Learn and Maintain proper balance between priority and impact.
