Summary These positions are located in Rio Puerco Field Office, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Socorro Field Office, Socorro, New Mexico, and Taos Field Office, Taos, New Mexico. You will be required to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying: Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following: (1) planning, implementing, and/or administering a natural resource program in a multi-resource environment involving the management of public lands; (2) managing or directing one or more natural resource programs within a multiple-use framework or natural resources management setting; (3) working with an established budget system; (4) managing public lands for multiple use, such as energy, mineral and renewable resources. Education There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-12 grade level of this announcement. Additional information Physical Demands: Work is primarily in an office setting. There is frequent travel to field sites via four wheel drive vehicles, fixed wing aircraft, helicopter, and boats. There is a potential for adverse climatic conditions. Field work involves walking, bending, and climbing on steep and rough terrain. Working Conditions: Most work is in a office setting. Field sites involve exposure to adverse weather, i.e., rain, snow, cold and/or heat. Some outdoor work requires special safety precautions. Incumbent will adhere to all safety rules and regulations as prescribed in manuals/supplements or by the designated Safety Officer. The Bureau of Land Management has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
