Summary This a National Guard Title 5 Excepted Service Position. This National Guard position is Permanent GS-0185-12 SOCIAL WORKER (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T59128P1 and is part of the MO 131st Bomb Wing. This is a non-bargaining position. Learn more about this agency Requirements Conditions of Employment Failure to complete management prescribed courses for full-time support personnel within the first year of employment or assignment, may be cause for reassignment or termination. Position is subject to the provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program. Advanced in hire rate may be granted to set pay above the minimum rate of the grade for a new employee if he/she possesses superior qualifications relevant to the positions' requirements and is essential to accomplish the agency's mission. Creditable Service for Annual Leave accrual may be granted to new employees if he/she possesses superior qualifications essential to the position; and which were acquired through performance in a non-federal or active duty uniformed service position. The duties performed in a non-federal or active duty uniformed service position must directly relate to the position to which appointed and such qualifications are necessary to achieve an important agency mission or performance goal to be eligible. United States Citizenship is required. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Appointments of retired members of the Armed Forces as National Guard employees within 180 days of retirement requires a waiver approved by the Adjutant General of Missouri before an effective date can be established. Master’s in Social Work from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education is highly desired. Other mental health degrees and training as identified in AFI 44-119 (Medical Quality Operations) are acceptable. Must possess a current, unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S Virgin Islands. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation of Essential Personnel will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by The Adjutant General. Incumbent may share on-call duty during weeknights and/or weekends on a rotational basis as required consistent with other mental health professionals of the same specialty performing like duties. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. Qualifications GS-12 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that indicates your ability to provide operational leadership consultation, direct client services, community capacity building, preventive, remedial, and support services aimed at improving and sustaining the psychological health of military members and their families. The specialized experience must also demonstrate your ability to provide consultation to operational leadership on psychological health issues; performing clinical and administrative duties with regards to outreach, education, and prevention, needs-based and psychological assessments, diagnosis, and short- term problem resolution; conducting routine and crisis evaluations, psycho-diagnostic assessments, and evidence-based problem resolution strategies and services; preparing written evaluation reports; clinical intake interviews with clients to include social assessments; performing fitness for duty assessments; and developing prevention and community outreach and education programs. Must possess a minimum of two years within the past five years in the independent practice of clinical social work. Must possess a current, unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. Additional Conditions of Employment: Must be privileged for independent practice by the Credentials Committee at the employing Medical Treatment Facility. Position requires Basic Life Support (BLS) in accordance with local MDG policies. Must be obtained with 6 months of onboarding. This position may be identified as having "regular contact with children," requiring a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for the position. Completion of appropriate clinical and administrative duties may involve "after hours" care or work in addition to regular duty hours. Must be able to obtain and maintain privileging for the DOD/AFMS/ANGMS IAW DHA PM 6025-13 Vol 4 and DAFMAN 44-119. Must maintain credentials requirements at all times (i.e. current and unrestricted state license, BLS, clinical competencies, etc.) IAW DHA PM 6025-13 Vol 4 and DAFMAN 44-119. 6/14/2022 TCPC Cramner. Other mental health degrees and training as identified in AFI 44-119 (Medical Quality Operations) are acceptable. Candidate must be a fully qualified Mental Health professional IAW AFI 44-119. YOU MUST submit copies of college transcripts that identify each course, the college or university, semester or quarter hours earned, grade and grade-point received.
