You will serve as a Travel Support and Programs Specialist in the Resource Management Department of DDHBAP ASIA PACIFIC CENTER FOR SECURITY STUDIES.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport and be willing to travel internationally (via military or commercial aircraft) at times to non-developed nations.
  • Must be able to work outside normal and pre-determined work schedule to accomplish mission requirements.

Qualifications

GS-9:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Processing passports, visas, travel orders, and assisting with travel arrangements; 2) Resolving administrative issues such as financial matters, travel changes, lost luggage, support of emergency family's situation, and/or the early return; and 3) Using software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access to create and maintain written correspondence which include travel documents and reports.

GS-7:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting with processing passports, visas, travel orders, and assisting with travel arrangements; 2) ing resolve administrative issues such as financial matters, travel changes, lost luggage, support of emergency family's situation, and/or the early return; and 3) Using software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access to maintain written correspondence which include travel documents and reports.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

For GS-9:

Master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related

For GS-7:
1 full year of graduate level education
or
Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

Eligible DoD career or career conditional employees shall be granted statutory return rights to their former position for a period of 5 years if continuously employed in a foreign or non-foreign area provided by Executive Order 10895 and DoDI 1400.25, v 1230. Employees that do not exercise their return rights within five years are no longer eligible for return rights and will be treated as a local hire.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
