This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code (411), proficiency level (Intermediate) the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases. Qualifications In addition to the basic requirements below, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying customer principles, methods, and practices with regard to the enterprise IT infrastructure; 2) Applying project management principles and methods sufficient to represent the claimant in planning for the install and implementation of new systems, hardware, software, and networks; 3) Analyzing and evaluating criteria to determine program effectiveness; 4) Resolving complex technical problems and develop new or modified work methods; and 5) Applying oral and written communication techniques sufficient to interact with other organizations, claimants, and vendors. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Basic Requirements For all 2210 series positions, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In lieu of specialized experience, the following education may be substituted: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.; or equivalent doctoral degree.
