Qualifications PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS: Work requires considerable bending, kneeling and stooping. If the assignment is located at a jobsite, strenuous physical exertion may be required when handling heavy/bulky materials such as sheets of plywood or other building/construction materials. Use of manual or portable power tools for extended periods of time in uncomfortable positions. Construction work typically requires bending, stooping, climbing on ladders, scaffolding and rooftops. Lifts and moves materials weighing up to 40 Ibs. With assistance may lift/move heavier items. When working in shop areas, could be exposed to moderate or high noise levels from machinery, sawdust, glue fumes and hazards related to power equipment. When completing maintenance or repair, or working at project/construction sites, exposed to prevailing weather conditions and hazards associated with working on/around scaffolding and ladders. Subject to cuts, bruises and contusions. May work in confined areas such as crawl spaces and attics that are typically dusty and dirty. Must wear proper protective equipment for all of these conditions. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Additional information Receiving Service Credit for Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior work experience or military service experience. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
