Seeking Per Diem Inpatient Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners for its 80-bed
behavioral health hospital and 26-bed Clinical Stabilization Services located in Brockton, MA.
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners are a critical part of a multidisciplinary team and possess unique
expertise and a focus on providing quality behavioral health care to acute populations.
Psychiatric
Nurse Practitioners are dedicated team members responsible for assisting a variety of patients by
evaluating medical and psychosocial conditions and overseeing the development and implementation of
treatment plans. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary
team to take care of the mental, emotional or behavioral disorders for patients engaged in
services.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
Provide evidence-based evaluation, diagnosis and
treatment of patients including prescribing medications and/or other psychotherapeutic
interventions
Provide treatment either independently or with physician supervision in accordance
with Massachusetts regulations
Develop treatment plans, measure progress against the plans, and make
adjustments as needed
Provide crisis intervention as needed
Complete all necessary clinical
documentation in an accurate and timely manner
Collaborate with a broader team of physicians,
nurses, social workers, psychologists, and occupational therapists to assess and adjust treatment
plans
Coordinate and communicate with case managers, family members and other stakeholders regarding
treatment and care
Participate in the teaching of students and other trainees
Participate in
departmental and organizational quality improvement programs
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Masters Degree from
a Nurse Practitioner education program (with specialization in mental health) accredited by a
Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing-recognized national accreditation body
Two years of
experience as a Nurse Practitioner or five years of experience in Nursing preferred but candidates
who have a strong interest in working with patients who come from underserved populations are
encouraged to apply
Licensure:
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts
Current valid DEA certificate and MA Controlled Substances certificate or
eligibility
Buprenorphine waiver required or willingness to acquire waiver Certification
