Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State Driver's license to perform the duties of this position.
Must be able to operate both a four-wheel drive vehicle with standard transmission and an off-road all-terrain vehicle.
Incumbent must take a pre-employment physical and annual physical there after required to verify the incumbent is in good physical condition and can meet the physical requirements of this position.
Incumbent May be required to work irregular hours to include rotation between major training areas, shift work, rotating shifts and weekend/holiday work and overtime.
This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
Position requires Range Safety Training and Certification, which may be obtain within one year of employment. Inability to obtain and maintain this certification may result in termination.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Target System Worker (Motor Vehicle Operator)~ without more than normal supervision. The ability to perform common Target System worker (Motor Vehicle Operator) duties including 1) troubleshooting, inspecting, and/or repairing target mechanism systems 2) troubleshooting and/or repairing of electrical pop-up target mechanisms and 3) assisting range personnel with inspecting, maintaining or servicing computer systems, equipment or applications used in range operations. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified cut-off for referral to the selecting official.
Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision
PHYSICAL EFFORTS: Work requires inspection of field sites, necessitating walking, standing and climbing. Incumbent must be able to pick up and carry 45 pounds and up to 75 pounds with assistance.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in all kinds of weather in an outdoor environment; however, some work is performed in an office environment. Some work is performed at range sites where the exposures to hazardous materials or instruments exist.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
