Summary This INDUSTRIAL HYGIENIST is located in the Medical Group at an Air National Guard Wingand is part of the CA 144 FW. Must maintain proper security clearance. Qualifications INDUSTRIAL HYGIENIST, GS-0690-11: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-09 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: Researching industrial operations and developing, implementing, and executing surveillance strategies, inspections and evaluations of operational facilities and various activities to detect and eliminate health hazards; Experience developing, implementing, and managing the Federal Hazard Communication Standard as mandated by OSHA; Experience providing reports of findings with recommended preventative/corrective measures to the installation commander and other state and federal agencies (i.e. OSHA, Department of Transportation, and EPA). Part-time or unpaid experience: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid work on the same basis as for paid experience. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. To receive credit for such experience you must indicate clearly the nature of the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the number of hours per week spent in such employment. Qualifications must be met by the closing date: You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by 12/20/2024 Education Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health sciences, occupational and environmental health, toxicology, safety sciences, or related science OR Bachelor's degree in a branch of engineering, physical science, or life science that included 12 semester hours in chemistry, including organic chemistry, and 18 additional semester hours of courses in any combination of chemistry, physics, engineering, health physics, environmental health, biostatistics, biology, physiology, toxicology, epidemiology, or industrial hygiene. OR A certification from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH).
