Job Description

Summary This position is located in the Washington Headquarter Services (WHS), Facilities Services Directorate (FSD), Facilities Operations and Services Division (FOSD), Alterations Work Group (AWG). The purpose of this position is to provide expertise, leadership, and administrative oversight of reimbursable program operations (e.g., alterations, renovations, repair, construction, etc.). This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the civilian drug-testing program and you are required to pass screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and subsequent periodic drug screening thereafter. Employee may be called upon at any time to support the mission and required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays and/or overtime. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. Read more about what should I include in my federal resume? at https://www.usajobs.gov//faq/application/documents/resume/what-to-include/ You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability in: (1) Completing work for a variety of construction programs in support of operational facilities and equipment; (2) Conducting quality control procedures, such as: inspection instructions, control measuring and/or testing equipment, etc.; and, (3) Managing fulfillment of construction contracts to ensure construction projects proceed on schedule and in accordance with contract plans and specifications. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
