HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS
1. Expertise in the assessment of a wide range of psychopathology, substance abuse, psychotic, sexual, and personality disorders.
2. Demonstrated excellence in operating within a risk management framework. Includes knowledge of the Security Executive Agent Directive 4, Intelligence
Community (IC), and DoD personnel security and insider threat programs policies, directives, and regulations.
3. Demonstrated excellence in providing psychological consultation & briefings while maintaining professional ethics when working in a multi-disciplinary environment with non-mental
health professionals.
Basic Requirements
Degree: major or equivalent in psychology for all specializations except clinical psychology and counseling psychology. These two specializations have additional educational requirements, as stated below:
β’ Clinical psychology: For positions at grades GS-11 and above, satisfactory completion of all the requirements for the doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required.
β’ Counseling psychology: For positions at grades GS-9 and above, satisfactory completion of 2 full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in counseling psychology, or satisfactory completion in an accredited educational institution of all the requirements for a master's degree directly related to counseling psychology is required.
Additional information
DIA positions are Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) positions in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1601. All applicants must be U.S. citizens at the time of application. Applicants must meet the agencyβs conditions of employment, to include, but not limited to, satisfactory completion of an initial special background investigation and periodic reinvestigation, completion of any required medical examination and physical requirements, completion of any required personal interviews, favorable completion of any required initial or aperiodic polygraph examinations, completion of any required drug test, satisfactory completion of a two-year Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System trial period, and completion of a civilian mobility agreement.
