Summary The Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall Foundation (Udall Foundation) is hiring a Chief Programs Officer (CPO) to provide leadership for the agency's authorized programs and administer the agency's Grants, Gifts, and Donations activities. Remote duty stations are not permitted, but a transition period for relocation may be negotiable. Qualifications General Qualifications Superior character, good judgment, interpersonal skills, and an ability to work in a supportive, professional, and problem-solving manner with agency employees, Board of Trustees, and outside partners and stakeholders. Leadership skills as characterized by the ability to develop a common vision with colleagues, superiors, subordinates, and a facilitative management style that emphasizes teamwork, collegiality, flexibility, and inclusivity. Skill in assessing a problem or requirement, organizing an appropriate, solutions-focused response, and engaging others as needed to achieve a desired outcome. An ability to manage multiple requirements simultaneously and effectively while maintaining oversight over areas of responsibility. Ability to work independently to plan, organize, and coordinate projects, and to monitor and report on progress towards project objectives and milestones. Superior oral and written communications skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, listen effectively, and engage with and inspire others. Skill identifying and recommending to the Executive Director and agency leadership strategies for improvements to agency and program operations, activities, and initiatives. Technical Qualifications A bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the duties of the position (e.g., program management) or to the agency's program areas (e.g., education, conflict resolution, environmental policy, tribal policy), or equivalent demonstrated professional experience. At least five (5) years of relevant experience leading mission-based projects, programs, or initiatives from inception to completion, including monitoring and reporting on progress and outcomes. At least five (5) years of work experience as an employee of the Federal Government. At least one (1) full year at the GS-15 (or equivalent) Federal experience level, with specific experience in two or more of the following areas: Federal appropriations; finance and budgeting; program administration and oversight; performance reporting; personnel supervision and oversight. At least one (1) year of Federal supervisory experience, or at least three (3) years of experience leading project or agency teams to include demonstrated experience, training, and/or familiarity with performance planning, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and/or personnel policies and procedures of the Federal government. Demonstrated experience building, leading, and facilitating diverse teams to work towards a common goal or objective. Demonstrated experience creating oral and written communications to provide clear, timely, and reliable information to organizational leaders and staff. Fluency with MS Office 365 electronic tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Fluency with virtual communication and collaboration tools including Teams and Zoom. Subject matter expertise in one or more areas of agency programming including environmental policy, environmental conflict resolution, environmental education, Tribal health care, and/or Tribal public policy. Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required.
