Summary
AmeriCorps NCCC is a full-time, team-based national service program for men and women ages 18-26. The program is designed to strengthen communities and develop leaders through direct, team-based national and community service projects.
The stated salary does not include locality pay. Remote employees receive the locality rate associated with the location of their worksite, typically the employee's residence.

A 2-year probationary period is required for new Federal employees. New Federal employees who are veterans are subject to a 1 year probationary period.
Merit Promotion applicants must submit a SF-50 to verify Status and grade
Satisfactory completion of a background investigation is required

Qualifications
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the NY-01 pay band, which would be at or equivalent to, the GS-6 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience must include all of the following:
1) Work experience updating, tracking, and maintaining data systems; and
2) Proficiency with advanced Excel spreadsheet functionality; and
3) Work experience reconciling invoices; and
4) work experience providing general administrative support for an organization.
Such experience must be clearly documented in the applicant's resume.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
If you are qualifying based on education alone, you must have one full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement as defined by being in the upper third of your graduating class; or possessing a 3.0 GPA or higher over four years of education; or possessing a 3.5 GPA or higher during final 2 years of education. Such education must be from an accredited institution and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work. You must submit an unofficial copy of your college transcript. You must submit evidence that any education completed in a foreign institution is equivalent to U.S. educational standards.

If you are a male applicant who was born after 12/31/59 and are required to register under the Military Selective Service Act, the Defense Authorization Act of 1986 requires that you be registered or you are not eligible for appointment in this agency.

This Term Appointment will initially be for a three-year period, but may be extended for a total of five years. Should the need arise, this position may be made permanent without further competition.
As an employee on a Term Appointment, you will not acquire competitive status and you will not be covered by the agency's Interchange Agreement with the Office of Personnel Management, which allows for noncompetitive transfer from CNCS to other agencies in the competitive service of the federal government.
