Children's Congenital Heart Surgery Center is seeking a full time Certified Pediatric Nurse
Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their premier group.Qualified Candidates:
Graduate of an
accredited school of nursingGraduate of an accredited Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care
Program or Physician Assistant programCurrent Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure or
PA licensureCurrent Nurse Practitioner certification in Pediatric Acute Care Current provider card
in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); PALS provider card as required
by department and facilityEligible for hospital privilegesPrevious experience with Pediatric Cardiac
ICU or Congenital Heart Surgery required
Job Responsibilities and Qualifications:
Functions
independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical and ongoing clinical assessments for
complex acute, critical, and chronically ill perioperative and post-operative patientsOrders and
interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s age-specific needs such as x-rays,
EKGs and laboratory testsProvides relevant management, referrals, counseling, and education to
patients, families and caregivers related to patient’s condition and current carePrescribes
appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalitiesDemonstrates proficiency in
technical/procedural skills, as appropriate based on specialty and trainingFacilitates the patient’s
transition within and between health care settings, e.g. admitting, transferring, and discharging
patientsProficient use of EMR in the delivery of careOrganizes and participates in weekly
Multidisciplinary Case Conferences Monday-Friday day position with shared call responsibilities
