Summary As a Conference and Event Planner you will be the primary point of contact in OFR for conference, meeting, and event planning and execution and in collaboration with the Associate Director of Operational Support. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:For the OR-51 (GS-11 equivalent) grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the OR-42 (GS-9 equivalent) grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: Conducting research on and identifying service providers based on conference, meeting, and special event needs; AND Arranging event status meetings, tracking progress, providing updates to senior management and other responsible parties, and ensuring that event needs are met on time, within budget and in compliance with applicable policies/procedures; AND Performing advanced auditing and reconciliation of invoices and resolving problems with vendors when necessary to ensure compliance with contractual requirements; AND Planning and developing programs, agendas, budgets, and services according to customer requirements. OR EDUCATION: You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.M., if related. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: You may qualify with a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, your total qualifying experience is calculated as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then, your education is calculated as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. The two percentages are added together.The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for that grade level. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resumΓ©. Education The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the OPM instructions.
