This Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizes the DHA for Shortage Category and/or Critical Need Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Lead Police Officers are directly responsible for three or more DACP Officers/Military Policemen during a shift.

Conditions of Employment
One year trial/probationary period may be required.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
This position requires Rotating Shift work.
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
Pre-Appointment and Annual Physical Examination required
Must pass the record Physical Ability Test (PAT) within 30 days of t entry on duty date
Must qualify and maintain qualification for the Individual Reliability Program.
Required to wear the Department of the Army Civilian Police (DACP) uniform and other required safety apparel.
Adhere to appearance and hygiene standards, In Accordance With (IAW) Army Regulation (AR) 190-56.
Required working overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotational basis around a 24-hour day, 7 days a week.
Complete and pass required computer training from the National Crime Information Center (NCIC).
Required to meet the Lautenberg Amendment requirements and sign the Department of Defense's (DD) Form 2760 (Qualification to Possess Firearms or Ammunition).
Required to pass semiannual weapons qualification(s).
Complete and pass initial/annual Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certification/re-certification.
Must have graduated from the required U.S. Army Civilian Police Academy (USACPA) at the Law Enforcement Training Center, Ft Leonard Wood, MO, or be willing to attend within a year of hire, (cont in next requirement)
(cont from the prior requirement) or have an approved waiver/exemption or grandfathered by the Office of the Provost Marshall General.
This position requires pre-employment drug testing and random testing thereafter.
This is a Mission Essential designated position and subject to immediate recall.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: I have one year of specialized experience that provided knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property; which includes responding to investigating emergency calls, complaints; conducting search and arrests to detains witnesses or apprehend suspects, interview witnesses; and collects and preserves evidence and conducts long and short-term investigations to identify suspects and develops case information for use in a court of law. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirements using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
