UP Health System - Portage, located in Hancock, Michigan, is seeking a dedicated and skilled
Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join our emergency medicine
team. This full-time, employed position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to our

Position Highlights:
Specialty Focus: Emergency Medicine
Work Schedule:
216, 8-hour night shifts per year (Mon-Fri, 1pm to 9pm)
Team Environment: Join a collegial and
supportive team of 5 employed ED physicians
Facility: ACS-verified Level III trauma center with an
average annual census of around 10,000 patients
Support Systems:
ATLS certification
ED physicians
provide basic admin orders for hospitalists from 5pm to 7am
Hospital EMR: Meditech Magic
Digital
radiology, point-of-care ultrasound, 24/7 on-site CT, MRI available Mon-Fri, 8am to 5pm
Nurse triage

Telehealth psychiatrist assistance for psychiatric consultations
11 beds inclusive of 8
private rooms and 3 trauma bay beds

Delivery Unit
Licensed for up to 10 swing beds

Practice
Description:
Responsibilities:
Provide care for patients of all ages presenting to the emergency
department
Conduct evaluations and treatments
Coordinate care within the emergency department
setting
Collaborate with attending emergency department physicians and the interdisciplinary
team
Perform comprehensive evaluations, medical management, therapeutic interventions, patient
education, and discharge summaries
Report to and receive functional guidance from supervising and
attending physicians and the medicine section chief of staff
