Summary This position is a Realty Specialist, GS- 1170-9/11 working in one of the locations listed above for the R6-Division of Realty. In order to qualify for this position you must possess Minimum Qualification. Minimum Qualification [GS-09] One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-07 in the Federal service. Experience may include assisting with land acquisition transactions, including explaining agency land protection programs, options, and policies to private landowners, and conducting research and completing associated records examinations and documentation; determining ownership and disposition or real estate, reviewing courthouse records and/or title reports to determine if there are an encumbrances on real property, issuing permits for activities on Federal lands, utilizing multiple computer systems to access and input realty related data (digital archiving, ArcGIS, Microsoft , spreadsheets and databases), and assisting in maintaining and retrieving information and reports from automated data systems. OR Possess at least two (2) full years of graduate level education leading to a master's degree that provided the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform this work. NOTE: Transcripts required. OR Possess a combination of qualifying specialized experience and more than one year of graduate education (both as described above) that, when computed as percentages of their respective requirements, equals at least 100% when combined. Only graduate education beyond the first full year (18 semesters) is creditable using this method. NOTE: Transcripts required, and your resume must include sufficient detail (e.g., complete begin/end dates, hours worked per week, duties performed, etc.) for each work period to be considered. Minimum Qualification [GS-11] One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-09 in the Federal service. Experience may include: Reviewing permit applications for completeness and sufficiency and determining what, if any, curative or remedial measures are necessary prior to designating a right-of-way or land use application complete; Managing right-of-way or land use permitting projects or real estate projects involving common or familiar legal or environmental issues; Using software products to track and manage funds associated with permitted rights of way; and Drafting standard documents required for permitting right-of-way across public lands. OR Possess at least 3 full years of graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform this work. OR possess a combination of qualifying specialized experience and qualifying graduate education (both as described above) that, when computed as percentages of their respective requirements, equals at least 100% when combined. Only education beyond the second graduate year (36 semesters) is creditable using this method. NOTE: Transcripts required and your resume must contain sufficient detail describing this level of experience to meet this standard. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
