The Opportunity
DAT is seeking a full-time Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team in Beaverton, Oregon.
As an Accountant you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining financial precision and GAAP compliance for our leading SaaS technology company in supply chain logistics. Candidate Profile
- Solid understanding of the fundamentals and application of the GAAP rules and regulations.
- Skilled at a wide range of accounting functions. Experienced with spreadsheets, and a range of accounting and bookkeeping software.Â
- Strong attention to detail, customer service skills, negotiation skills, and a sense of urgency.
What You’ll Do
- Account Reconciliation and Journal Entries: Prepare and maintain monthly account reconciliations and journal entries for various general ledger accounts. Ensure accuracy in financial records and compliance with GAAP rules and regulations.
- Sales Tax Management: Assist in Sales Tax Reconciliation and Payments using Avalara sales tax software. Stay informed about changing tax regulations and ensure timely and accurate tax reporting.
- Fixed Asset Management: Be responsible for managing and maintaining fixed assets, including tracking, depreciation calculations, and meticulous record-keeping.Â
- Financial Reporting: Generate a range of essential financial reports that provide insights into the company's financial performance, contributing to informed decision-making.
- Cash Flow Management: Play a crucial role in daily cash account reconciliations, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and accounted for.
- Taxes: Handle Personal Property Taxes and Sales Taxes efficiently and accurately, meeting all required deadlines and regulatory compliance.
- Team Support: Provide valuable support for various other duties and projects as needed, contributing to the smooth functioning of the finance department.
The Skills and Experience You’ll Need
- A minimum of 2 years of direct experience in corporate accounting is required.
- A Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university is strongly preferred. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Experience with monthly close, tax planning/filing, bookkeeping, and a strong attention to detail is crucial.Â
- A solid understanding of the fundamentals and application of GAAP rules and regulations.
- Familiarity with Great Plains, Sage FAS, and Avalara is strongly preferred. Salesforce experience is a plus.
- Strong skills working in MS Office 365 and Google Workspace.
- The ability to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly, facilitating effective communication within the team.
- Willingness to work part of the week in the office, embracing a hybrid work environment.
- Proven ability to work effectively and productively as part of a team as well as individually.
- Effectively communicate in a professional manner with internal employees, customers, and vendors.Â
