AIX Services Specialist

Your Role and Responsibilities
The major project is called ECuRep a support data repository and debugging systems for the IBM support organizations world wide. Besides normal system administration tasks each team member is responsible for one or more technical key aspect of the team tasks. This includes leading a sub project preparing release or version changes but also acquiring new competencies for the team.

The ideal candidate should have strong AIX background and administration skills. Being a good team player but also can work independent from the team to drive service projects at customer locations. Why is this a great opportunity for you?

The IT Center is operating all major IBM platforms plus Linux Windows VMWare & Citrix. In our projects we run many different applications. Our main project ECuRep requires all platform teams to work together.

Our services utilizes System z System p i x and VMWare (LINUX AIX and Windows) resources. You’ll gain skill across platforms and increase your employability!

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
AIX Services Skills:

• Managing AIX server installing & configuring VIOSs/LPARs
• Middleware (WAS MQ HTTPs LDAP GPFS) management
• Ensure ITSS compliance
• Creating and updating security documentation
• Standard maintenance tasks
• knowledge about NIM xCAT Cloud handling
• System automation via Chef (process automation solution) and Perl scripts

Non Technical Skills & Requirements:

• flexible Teamplayer
• English: Fluent
• Availability during German standard office hours

IBM Cloud:

• General Cloud administration/Troubleshooting
• Virtual Private Cloud -> Setup/Maintenance via Terraform
• Cloud Storage

Openshift:

• General Administration/Troubleshooting
• Spectrum Scale (CSI – Container Storage Interface CNSA – Container Native Storage Access )

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• German language knowledge is an advantage
• Individuals must be located in one location to enable efficient team performance and continued backup
• EU residents are preferred (not a hard requirement at the moment but might become one)
