Arrow International, Inc. is seeking to add an Assistant Corporate Controller to our Accounting/Finance team based in Cleveland, Ohio.

Summary of Position:

This is a great opportunity for an experienced finance or accounting professional to take the next step in their career with an industry leader that has 50 years of proven success. This position will manage a team charged with providing accounting support to the operations of the business as well as financial management. This individual will be involved with projects within the financial management areas as well as supervising the monthly close process and will be instrumental in assisting with the preparation and annual audit of the financial statements. This person will be instrumental in assisting with projects to further automate the costing systems, to provide data that will allow daily analysis of variances and eliminate the manual recording of costing entries at month-end.

Responsibilities:

• Along with the Global Controller, lead the financial area of the accounting department including planning and executing projects to improve systems and procedures.
• Review postings within the G/L for accuracy in both G/L structure and amounts.
• Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Review reconciliations of General Ledger accounts at month-end.
• Focus on continuous improvement of the overall accounting and finance department.
• Drive the monthly G/L closing, leading efforts on intercompany eliminations.
• Draft technical accounting memorandums as necessary.
• Lead/assist with maintaining and creating (as needed) corporate accounting policies.
• Assist with transactional accounting support (ASC 805).
• Assist with the organization of and participate in the annual Physical Inventory or Cycle Counting process.
• Help lead the annual audit process by external public accounting firm.
• Lead/assist with ad-hoc questions / projects as needed.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in public accounting or industry experience
• CPA
• MBA a plus
• Demonstrate a focus on continuous improvement and process excellence
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Excel including Pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.
• Proficient knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
• Knowledge of Oracle Hyperion Planning or another multi-dimensional database a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidential information
• Ability to meet tight deadlines effectively and efficiently
• Ability to work well both independently and on a team
• Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
• Ability to think and reason on your own
• Potential for travel to offsite locations
