We are a forward-looking team shaping the future of technology and society in Southeast Asia. Grab's Public Affairs team works with governments to support national policy agendas, cultivate constructive public policy discussions, and lead projects that harness technology's potential to create positive impact across the region.

Get to Know the Role 

• Your role will help support Grab Malaysia's advocacy and engagement strategy, shaping policies that positively impact society and grow Southeast Asia's tech ecosystem.
• You will report into the Director, Public Affairs and Policy and be based in Petaling Jaya, working onsite.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will have to support Grab Malaysia's public affairs advocacy and engagement strategy.
• You will have to help build policy positions on topics such as transport, deliveries, gig economy, and e-commerce.
• You will have to establish and maintain strategic team member relationships.
• You will have to coordinate with teams (e.g., operations, communications, marketing) to plan and implement projects.
• You will have to collaborate with product, legal, business, and other teams to evaluate all products and features.
• You will have to represent Grab at government meetings and events to support strategic goals.
• You will have to provide input to Grab's leadership on complex public policy and regulatory matters.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• You will have 5+ years in public/government affairs, public policy, strategic advisory, or partnership roles in Malaysia, within a multinational or government setting.
• You will have a understanding of Malaysia's political system and tech-related policy issues.
• You will have strong analytical, project management, and communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• You can collaborate effectively with team members at all levels.
• You will be proactive, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• You will be passionate about making a positive impact on the community.
