Position Purpose
The Associate Desktop Systems Engineer is responsible for deploying, monitoring, and maintaining the global desktop and collaboration solutions for Sleep Number's end-user computing environment. This includes the support for the corporate office, manufacturing facilities and over 500 retail field locations regarding device, application, and connectivity for desktop computers, laptops, printers, collaboration tools, and other proprietary technology devices for Sleep Number. In this position, you will play a substantial role in emerging technology projects and their successful execution.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provisions, administers, and supports Exchange Online, O365, and M365 capabilities
- Supports all technical deployment activities for retail field and headquarters to ensure proper technology assets and applications are deployed
- Develops and packages operating systems and applications within KACE for Windows and Mac Operating Systems
- Applies operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes to deployment tools
- Monitors incidents within Service Now and assists with escalations and complex incidents as needed to maintain SLA
- Supports fast moving, large scale retail and corporate technical projects with testing, device planning and scalable technical configuration
- Ensures that stakeholders and sponsors are appropriately informed on project status as required
- Communicates to stakeholders and IT regarding system operations and planned environment changes
- Plans, designs, socializes, and implements solution standards that can be deployed across the organization
- Participates and influences others in the development and implementation of specific desktop solutions
- Continuously develops technical subject matter expertise on established and emerging desktop and other device technologies
- Ability to read, write and maintain advanced scripts using modern languages like PowerShell, .NET and VBS
- Write and maintain MySQL queries for reporting from KACE environment for integration with ServiceNow
Position Requirements
- 3+ years' experience in a similar technical position for an organization with multiple locations, preferably in a retail-facing organization
- 1+ year experience managing and supporting Exchange Online, O365, and M365 capabilities
- 1+ years' experience using enterprise asset mgmt. systems such as KACE
- Familiarity with mobile and collaborative technologies such as teleconferencing and tablet integration
- Familiarity with application deployment tools and imaging
- Familiarity with VDI, VPN and other remote tools
- Familiarity using 3rd party remote access tools to troubleshoot remote user's incidents
Knowledge, skills & abilities
- Familiarity and technical competence with asset management software and/or technical interfaces to support end-user computing
- Familiarity with Powershell, Python or equivalent automation languages
- Possess superior written and oral communication
- Display ability to interact effectively in a cross-functional team; maintaining and leveraging strong work relationships
- Exhibit excellent judgment and independent decision making skills
- Execute with high quality
- Operate in high pressure situations and successfully handle multiple priorities
- Display strong organizational skills
