What you will be doing:

We are looking for a savvy, hardworking Associate Manager, Product Development, Liquids who is passionate about launching new products in the beauty sector! This position will be essential in supporting the launch process for all new products from the innovation calendar for Helen of Troy Liquids. The ideal candidate will have a background in product development within the beauty industry, is beauty obsessed and thrives in a fast-paced, very hands-on environment with a can-do attitude and attention to detail.

  • Support the product development process from concept to launch of liquids.
  • Be a subject matter expert in the beauty industry trends and consumer and competitor activity to be able to help support product innovation and participate in product conceptualization with benchmarks and competitive analysis.
  • Support and help build new product development briefs, acquiring and sending out benchmarks, supervising timing for submission, tracking and logging redirects, completing internal and external user evaluation by capturing samples, crafting surveys, and coordinating the tests for formula evaluation. Provide summary/analysis and distributing results to lead up to formula approval to ensure product experience and uniqueness are met and formula approvals are timely.
  • Assist in the daily product development work with contract manufacturers, ensuring submissions are timely and all lab samples are organized and maintained, F&As are complete and ready for pilot, standards are signed off on and stored in shared drive.
  • Assists in packaging development and assessment, builds competitive analysis to review sizes and packaging types, ensures artwork routing is on time and keeps final files and dyelines organized.
  • Works closely in collaboration across cross-functional teams (creative, sales, marketing, operations, quality, R&D, packaging and regulatory) supervising the key product development achievements with updates and ensuring communication is shared efficiently.

Skills needed to be successful in this role:

  • Proven track record to prioritize and to identify when assistance is needed and seek help from appropriate parties.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to tackle problems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to switch between projects without sacrificing quality and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated individual with a passion for product development in beauty, staying up to date with industry trends.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years in the personal care industry within product development.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and packaging suppliers.
  • 20%-30% travel
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
