Summary of Job:
We are seeking a highly motivated and tech savvy Associate Paralegal who has experience in assisting with the preparation, negotiation and life-cycle maintenance of contracts and related documents.
This candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and have a history of working under attorney or paralegal supervision. We are looking for an individual with a strong desire to learn database creation and management.
Essential Functions:
Contract Review and Drafting: Review, analyze, and redline contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and company policies. Assist in the preparation of initial drafts of contracts and legal needs of various business functions including:Â Marketing, Sales, Medical affairs, HR, IT, Public Affairs, Finance, Market Access, Sales Operations, Supply Chain Management and Operations, Quality and Regulatory.
- Contract Negotiation: Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external parties to negotiate contract terms and conditions. Escalate with senior counsel and continue to lead negotiations through process completion.
- Database Management: Quickly become accustomed to our customized, cloud-based database, assisting with the management and contract flow process from inception through signature and archiving, with the idea of working towards ensuring optimization of tool usage. Assist with implementing a system of user-friendly and intuitive updates. Ensure the organization and categorization of various legal documents.
- Workflow Optimization: Collaborate with legal and relevant business teams to understand their needs and requirements regarding database usage, efficiencies, and reporting needs. Streamline workflows and develop standardized processes to enhance efficiency and accessibility of information.
- Reporting and Analytics: Generate reports, dashboards, and visualizations to provide insights into contract timelines, and other key metrics. Use data analytics to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
- User Training and Support: Train users, in the legal and business teams, on proper database usage, data entry guidelines, and best practices. Provide ongoing support to address any database-related queries or issues that may arise.
Position Requirements:
Education
Paralegal’s certification or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Information Science, or a related discipline.
Experience
Experience with cross-functional teams and demonstrated ability to partner effectively with others to address complex legal, compliance and operational issues. Prior experience (4+ years) in contract management. Familiarity with pharmaceutical contracts is preferred. Proficiency in using database management systems and tools. Â Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
 Technical Skills
Proficient in MS Office Suite.
Non-Technical Skills
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, make decisions, and change course of action quickly. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong work ethic is required. Detail oriented and excellent follow through. Has the ability to flex and deal with ambiguity in a dynamic, fast-paced, high growth environment. Has a passion for personal learning and development to be able to grow with the company. Cultural sensitivity and ability to develop consensus within a multinational organization.
Physical Demands: Normal office environment with prolonged sitting and extensive computer work and type.
Working Conditions: Requires up to 10% domestic and international travel
