We’re looking for an exceptional individual to join our team and take on important responsibilities to help Bitwise scale. You will report to the Head of Investor Relations and will be responsible for ongoing support to a wide range of clients. You will also collaborate closely with teams internally to optimize the client experience. The ideal candidate has expertise in Client Service or Investor Relations in the TradFi or Alternative Investments Industry.


As a member of the Index Portfolio Management & Capital Markets team you will professionally manage Bitwise’s suite of index products including ETFs, private funds and SMAs. In this daily production environment, you will ensure tight portfolio performance to benchmarks while keeping top of mind all procedures and controls to minimize operational risk and trading errors. You will provide timely trade execution for subscriptions/redemptions and create/redeems, all index rebalances and model changes, in accordance with the investment objectives of the portfolios. You will work with our internal sales team, and third party market makers and authorized participants, to support the orderly operation and execution in primary markets and trading in secondary markets of Bitwise ETF and ETP products. You will manage relationships to support efficiencies in product design, listing, quotation and daily operations. This role will be based in our NYC office and will have a hybrid work schedule.

What You Will Do

  • Portfolio Management: 
  • Manage index portfolios in multiple wrappers (ETFs, private funds, SMAs) within assigned parameters and tolerance levels.
  • Understand asset valuations in portfolios utilizing market information.
  • Follow procedures and processes, monitor portfolio activity and performance.
  • Recognize portfolio risk situations and escalate appropriately.

  • Portfolio Trading: 
  • Execute trades in multiple workflows, minimize transaction impact and cost. 
  • Trade multiple asset classes including equities, futures, options, T-bills and crypto currencies.
  • Run a full trading lifecycle from PM order to trade execution to settlement.

  • Capital Markets:
  • Manage relationships with authorized participants, broker dealers, electronic market making firms for Bitwise ETFs.
  • Maintain ETF monitoring capability to continuously monitor market quality across Bitwise’s publicly traded products.
  • Effectively communicate, both orally and in written form, with a diverse group of junior and senior parties, both internal and external.
  • Collect, consolidate and interpret company and industry data.
  • Prepare client presentations, including compiling data and assembling presentation materials.
  • Support drafting of prospectuses, related documentation and marketing materials for new fund launches.
  • Liaise with other internal teams including sales and trading, investor relations, fund administration, research and legal.
  • Support new product launches.

Who You Are

  • You have 3-5 years of experience in equity ETFs, index portfolio management and capital markets.
  • You have experience managing and/or trading equity index portfolios.
  • You have a solid understanding of the index portfolio management process including index methodology and trading strategies.
  • You have a well-developed understanding of ETFs, secondary market trading, and liquidity.
  • You have an understanding of the ETF arbitrage mechanism, creation and redemption processes, and trade execution costs. 
  • You have hands-on experience working with market makers, authorized participants, and broker-dealers.
  • You have strong technical and analytical skills (Bloomberg and Advanced Excel).
  • Knowledge in SQL and a coding language such as VBA, Python, or Java is a plus.
  • Experience analyzing large data sets preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail. 
  • A strong will to learn and desire to be challenged.
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced, team environment.
  • Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independentlyYou have a deep interest in cryptocurrency markets. Experience investing in crypto is a plus.
