Associate Product Developer

OVERVIEW: 

This role will support the Shark Business with the development of successful and profitable programs for key products to ensure continued growth of the current portfolios as well as the establishment of new launches. This role is expected to be the market expert in motorized product lines, the competitive landscape, retailer assortments and assist the New Product Development team in creating products that will meet the needs of the changing consumer and retailer requests. Here are some of the EXCITING things you’ll get to do: 

• Assist with product management activities for new product launches, product improvements, optimizations, and line extensions with an emphasis on Skincare and non-technical accessories. This includes set up of Product Information Sheets and Product Management of Parts and Accessories.  
• Support product lines through the growth, active, and end of life stages by providing cross-functional support to resolve product, quality, manufacturing and customer challenges. 
• Assist in the creation/management of merchandising, training, digital content support and execution at retail. 
• Conduct market research to identify consumer needs and market gaps and analyze the competitive landscape inclusive of hosting and coordinating product summits with subject matter experts (SMEs). 
• Be the key voice in executing a viral product through ownership of Maximum Social Impact tracker. 
• Oversee and track the execution of out of box collateral inclusive of how-to guides, warning inserts, on-product POP, and any further product education materials. Additionally supporting the ownership of online FAQs, How to Videos and Troubleshooting scripts for the call center agents. 
• Manage the product development of all global SKU extensions and work cross functionally to ensure production deadlines are successfully executed. 

ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS: 

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Management, Communications or Marketing Concentrations. 
• 1+ years of experience in product development/marketing preferably at a consumer goods company. 

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of SharePoint a plus. 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven, high impact environment. 
• Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills. 
• Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, efficient and detail oriented. 
• Ability to be a team player as well as work independently.
