Authorization and Documentation Specialist

About this role:

The Authorization and Documentation Specialist is responsible for clients in the ABA and Therapies program. This position requires an organized, detail-oriented person who works well with families and insurance claims. The position is located 80% in our Foxboro office and 20% in our Attleboro location in person.

Schedule: Saturday mandatory; Sunday and another weekday off.

Salary Range: $19-$25/hour

$500.00 Sign-On Bonus

In this role, you'll get to:

• Respond to phone messages, faxes, and emails.
• Enter client information into Central Reach.
• Review documentation against insurance policy criteria for requested services to ensure that the criteria has been met and documented prior to submitting for authorization.
• Validate insurance benefits for families in appropriate portals
• Explain benefits to families seeking services.
• Secure authorizations from insurance for ABA services using information from parents and collaborators
• Send Paperwork and consent for signature through Drop Box Sign to families
• Upload signed documents into Central Reach and update fields in file as appropriate
• Enter authorizations for service into Central reach when received
• Collect co-pay from family when needed
• Enter EIBI ABA billing into EICS system
• Liaison with third party billing for submissions as needed

We are looking for people who have: 

• 3-5 years of healthcare experience focusing on insurance verification and benefits. Including obtaining referrals and authorization, and /or registration of demographic and insurance information.
• Ability to communicate with providers/clinicians, family members, and third-party payers.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology and coding
• Ability to work independently to investigate and make decisions.
• Ability to comply with HIPAA guidelines.
• Exceptional customer service skills with professional experience on telephones and computers.
