Your Role and Responsibilities
The Back End Developer will primarily be responsible for designing developing and maintaining server-side applications but may also assist with client-side tasks as needed. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Java and TypeScript as well as experience with IBM DB2 and Java frameworks. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills a deep understanding of software development best practices and a passion for building scalable and efficient systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement robust secure and maintainable server-side applications using Java Maven and IBM DB2.
• Develop and maintain APIs for data access and communication between front-end and back-end components.
• Write automated tests to ensure the quality reliability and robustness of the application.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in front-end development.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers on the team.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• Over 5 years of professional experience as a Back End Developer with at least 4 years specializing in Java EE and relational databases.
• Professional experience working with multithreaded systems.
• Some experience in front-end development.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices.
• Experience with CIO Cirrus hybrid cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of software development best practices including version control (e.g. Git) code review and testing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills attention to detail and a passion for learning new technologies.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Proficiency with Swagger.
• Experience working with REST and GraphQL.
• Knowledge of Angular or React and TypeScript.
• Experience with RxJS.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and respectfully in a multicultural team environment.
• Ability to work independently and proactively.
• Self-starter with a strong aptitude for learning new technologies enthusiastic about teaching and sharing knowledge and capable of multitasking.
• Genuine interest in solving customer issues and ensuring software quality.
• Fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skills
