Job Title: BI (Business Intelligence) Developer

Today, DRC's business units serve the K-12 and adult education sector, Federal and state governments, licensure boards and associations, and commercial clients worldwide!

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated BI Developer who has proven leadership skills, the ability to think critically and problem solve, and a track-record of ensuring project milestones and deadlines are met.

DRC is continuing to grow and is seeking to add BI (Business Intelligence) Developers to our organization. As a BI Developer, you will work with and across multiple development teams and departments, enterprise stakeholders, and customers and be responsible to help support the expansion and integration of DRC's core business intelligence solutions spanning analytic data systems and reporting visualizations that fulfill mission-critical customer needs. You will closely collaborate with teammates to distill the Company's and industry's best practices and build, integrate, and deliver the Company's next generational UI and key product advancements for the future.

The ideal candidate is a quick learner with strong, demonstrable aptitude in being a versatile SQL scripter, data wrangler and dashboard designer who enjoy building, integrating, and managing a BI delivery pipeline in support of business and mission critical KPI reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop BI features and capabilities that enhance the overall user experience of our reporting platform and tools
• Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain said solutions while considering durability, cost, reusability, and security
• Partner with the UI/UX design team on the overall look and feel of the solution, how it operates, and will be implemented
• Decompose complex business and technical requirements into supportable and easy-to-use solutions
• Observe best practices on web standards, usability, accessibility, and optimization

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2+ years of related experience.
• Ability to communicate requirements and details to non-technical users
• Comfortable with collaboration and working in a fast-paced environment
• Working with BI reporting platforms eg. ThoughtSpot, Tableau, Power BI, Domo, etc.
• SQL concepts and scripting under various database technologies eg. PostgreSQL, Redshift, MS SQL Server, DynamoDB, etc.
• Understanding of database queries and models
• Web scripting familiarity spanning one or more of: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, DevExtreme, HiCharts, etc.
• Web Services / REST / GraphQL core concepts
• Shell scripting eg. Unix Bash, Microsoft PowerShell, etc.
• Understanding of front to back end integrations spanning UI Applications to Web Services to Databases
• Ability to review and understand business requirements
• Ability to review and create detailed technical documentation

Preferred Experience (nice to have, not required):

• Experience configuring or administering BI reporting platforms
• Working with cloud technologies eg. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, eg. Kanban, Scrum
• Understanding of test-driven development and CI/CD deployment pipeline
• Experience with Open Source work management tools: JIRA, Jenkins, and GitHub
• Experience scripting for API integration testing eg. with Postman
• Bachelor's or higher degree, preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or a related discipline

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Excellent organizational, oral, written, and presentational communication skills to work with all levels of staff and management.
• Proficient in creating business process and data flow diagrams using tools such as MS Visio and LucidCharts.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Atlassian, Google suite, and applicable data analytics tools.
• Relate effectively and work respectfully with diverse workgroups.
• Ability to consistently perform well during times of increased workload.
• Set and meet deadlines.
• Manage multiple job functions simultaneously.
• Other duties as needed.
