The Position
The Scientist/Sr. Scientist is joining Bioanalytical Development within the Clinical Pharmacology Department. The successful candidate will primarily focus on bioanalytical method development and qualification, and sample analysis in support of preclinical and clinical development programs. The Scientist/Sr. Scientist will have expertise with various analytical platforms and is well versed in bioanalysis. The Scientist/Sr. Scientist will lead bioanalytical training and provide expertise to less experienced scientists. The Scientist/Sr. Scientist will be joining a team of highly motivated and experienced scientists and will contribute to the success of Arrowhead programs.
Responsibilities
- Lead method development and qualification of various bioanalytical assays via HPLC-FL, LC-MS/MS and immunoassays for preclinical TK, PK and biodistribution studies and clinical PK and biomarker studies
- Perform quantitative analysis of oligonucleotides and its metabolites in a variety of biological matrices (fluids and tissues)
- Lead assigned projects, provide oversight of non-GxP and GxP bioanalytical method validations and sample analysis from early to late development, internally and externally
- Track progress against project timelines, generate regular status updates, and communicate progress and issues to management and cross-functional teams
- Follow SOPs and stay up to date on regulations
- Present findings in team meetings
- Train other group members in bioanalytical method development, qualification, analysis and project oversight
- Explore new analytical platforms for the group and lead lab organization and setup
- Perform data analysis and interpretation
- Conduct peer review of data
- Setup and maintain lab instrumentation
- Evaluate assay and instrument performance, ability to troubleshoot minor issues
- Maintain a well-documented laboratory notebook
- Effectively manage workload with minimal supervision
- Adhere to safe laboratory practices
- Multi-task across several projects and manage time effectively to achieve results
Requirements:
- Minimum BS degree with 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/CRO industry
- Demonstrated method development experience with various analytical platforms and deep expertise with LC-MS/MS and immunoassays
- Demonstrated project and time management
- Experience with training other scientists and leading lab organization and processes
- Good documentation practices with excellent organization and attention to detail
- Demonstrated innovation, creativity and resilience in problem solving
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated team player with the ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic, multi-disciplinary, matrixed environment
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $90,000 - $140,000 annually.
