The Business Continuity (BC) Manager is a mid-level, individual contributor for Chubb's overall readiness for, response to, and recovery from business interruptions. This position is primarily focused on North America operations but will be expected to support aspects of COG, as needed. This position requires an experienced professional who provides subject matter expertise, and project/program leadership in BC. This person is responsible for creating and executing BC strategies, plans, and exercises, and leading incident response. The BC Manager will proactively seek enhancement opportunities, risks, and realized issues while also creating and delivering solutions. They successfully, and independently, manage multiple projects and initiatives, leveraging strong project management and enhanced communication skills. They are a lead example for critical thinking, senior-level communication and direct engagement, indirect matrix leadership and networking, detail orientation, and the creation and implementation of programmatic initiatives.

This role operates on a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote) and ideally will sit in either our Whitehouse Station, NJ, Boston, MA or Philadelphia, PA offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a leader of business continuity initiatives in North America and for the global BC Program as assigned. These engagements may include recurring annual requirements including BC exercises, business impact analysis, development and maintenance of business continuity plans, and project management.
  • Lead the Business in the identification of, and acceptance or mitigation of Continuity risks and issues. Track and report risk/issues, serving as the primary lead of a North American repository.
  • Serve as the regional SME for the BC workflow in Fusion Risk Management, Chubb's BC software.
  • Create and deliver training to BC program members on regular and new topics, socializing project updates, program/regulatory expectations, and BC capabilities.
  • Work collaboratively with the North America Business Continuity Lead and support and seek opportunities to engage other members of GSSBCM to support business continuity initiatives.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chubb BC team.
  • Lead response to BC incidents in North America, leveraging and building relationships with the Business and Regional Leads to understand their recovery capabilities and requirements.
  • Partner with NA Lead to engage with Governance, GSSBCM Leadership, COOs, and other regional leaders to provide senior-level updates, complete requests, and address impediments. As required for day-to-day or project work, proactively host meetings with key partners and senior leaders from teams such as Facilities, Human Resources, Communications, Third Party Risk Management, the Resilience team, etc.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience in business continuity planning, training, and exercising commensurate with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
  • Professional Designation - Certified Business Continuity Professional (or equivalent certifications or work experience preferred).
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Strong proficiency with Fusion Risk Management (preferred); the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams); SharePoint; Microsoft Outlook; Web-based communications tools; and internet-based research (required).
  • Consistently exhibit an independent, self-starting work ethic focused on planning, outcomes, regular professional updates, identifying and resolving impediments, and resolution/implementation.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills that are proactively applied and individually performed within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
  • Strong leadership skills that are applied in assigned matrix and project environments, showcasing an ability to lead internal business SMEs, partners, and stakeholders in delivering quality outcomes.
  • Exceptional verbal / written communications, especially when creating new training/content to launch concepts and initiatives. A developed understanding of how to tailor presentations and communications across different levels of seniority. Must be able to interface and coordinate efficiently and effectively with business partners and all levels of leadership across the global organization.
  • Strong Project Management skills, with effectiveness in developing/planning tasks, communicating to stakeholders and SMEs, and managing resources to achieve target dates.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and articulation skills required to communicate solutions to management.
  • Proven abilities to present, explain, and ensure understanding of new initiatives and concepts to senior leaders, enabling them as advocates and trainers of others within their businesses.
  • Focus on leading senior management in the development of strategic, as well as tactical plans to mature the BCP culture within the corporation.
