BUSINESS OPERATIONS LEGAL & COMPLIANCE

Key Responsibilities

1. Support business operation functions in India, China and Philippines - Facility, Security, Mobility, CISO, Business Continuity, leases, conveyances, registrations, CLRA, fire safety laws, dealing with municipal and land authorities, stamp duty, etc. in legal advisory work, drafting communications with the government or a law enforcement authority, support on lease agreement, divestments/sale agreements.
2. Audit licenses and approvals, NOCs for utility services, Fire NOCs, etc. and advise accordingly.
3. Audit business compliance through third party compliance tool.
4. Identify emerging risks, support process design, policy drafting/reviews.
5. Evaluate new regulations in the context of Wipro services and operations.
6. Resolve disputes and assist the central litigation team.
7. Provide legal and compliance related training to stakeholders.
8. Manage and co-ordinate with external counsels in relation to seeking opinions and finalization of documents.
9. Assist business teams interpreting laws/regulations etc.
10. Provide strategic legal advice and support in all matters relevant for Wipro operations including real estate, related party transactions, corporate social responsibility related legalities/compliances.
11. Provide legal advice and support to ensure full compliance.
12. Create, develop and implement policies, procedures, and standard contract in line with relevant jurisdiction.

Requirements

• Law degree from recognized college/university
• 8-10 years of similar experience in law firm, as single practitioner or in-house legal department
• Must have the experience of working on real estate agreements, issues, regulatory compliance, SEZ, STPI, etc.
• Self-starter
• Curiosity and problem-solving ability
• Thinking as well as implementation both at strategic and granular level
• People skills, cross-functional environment, collaborative style
• Clear thinker, able to function in a complex, matrixed structure.
• Good oral and written communication and presentation skills (PowerPoint, excel knowledge)
