Job Description

Hybrid or Remote opportunity

SUMMARY: BankUnited Capital Markets works with customers that have interest rate or foreign currency exposures by delivering risk management strategies and product structuring solutions. Reporting to the Director of Capital Markets, the Capital Markets Sales and Trading professional will be responsible for supporting the structuring and execution of interest rate risk management solutions and pricing and executing foreign exchange transactions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.

• Market and execute interest rate and foreign exchange products with customers and institutional counterparties.
• Responsible for the development of sales strategies, customer presentations, COI influencing efforts, and internal education programs related to interest rate hedging and foreign exchange services at BankUnited.
• Prepare and review loan documentation from pre-trade discussions through trade execution and post-trade administration.
• Provide general sales support for all product categories offered by BankUnited Capital Markets including Interest Rate Derivatives and Foreign Exchange Hedging contracts.
• Communicate regular market updates on how world political and economic events affect the markets the Bank and our customers trade in to internal and external audiences in written and verbal presentations.
• Maintain expert knowledge of regulatory developments - especially related to the Dodd-Frank Act, accounting guidelines, and compliance regimes pertinent to the derivative markets.
• Drive analysis and reporting on all Capital Markets revenue production and the effectiveness of sales efforts with a constant goal of improving performance metrics.
• Support the Director of Capital Markets in the development and expansion of new and existing business.
• Monitor policies, procedures and systems to ensure that applicable regulations are met and internal controls are in place.
• Support other bank hedging and balance sheet management activities as assigned.
• Serve as a key leader for client quality and service; Acts decisively to implement solutions and follows up to assure resolution.
• 10 - 20% of travel may be required.
• Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).
• Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.
• Identifies and reports suspicious activity.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree required.

EXPERIENCE

• 1 - 5 years of experience, previous sales or trading experience marketing FX or interest rate derivatives preferred.
• Professional expertise, knowledge and understanding of Capital Markets products which are sold by a regional financial institution preferred.
• Proficient in the use of: Microsoft Windows operating system, Bloomberg, Front and Middle Office trading systems (Derivative Path, Chatham, Finzly, Spectrum and/or systems like them etc) preferred.
