Your Role and Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Perform full spectrum of accounting functions for subsidiaries within Finance Group including preparation and review of balance sheet profit and loss and reporting packages and managing the internal review for these documents.
- Coordinate with regional process leads local country functional team (AR/AP/MP) regional reporting team and finance business partners to ensure month-end and year-end close is completed on time.
- Perform analysis of monthly fluctuation of profit and loss and balance sheet.
- Review month-end closing reporting packages prepared by the GL team.
- Review monthly month-end closing timeline and checklist to ensure that timelines are agreed in advance.
- Manage the preparation of statutory financial statements including managing communication with external auditors on accounting issues and to ensure auditor’s agreement with the company’s decision on accounting issues and disclosures.
- Coordination of annual external audit and quarterly reviews for group audit.
- Supervise accounting standards application issue identification and resolution.
- Implement and maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements including review and approval of journal entries bank reconciliations balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the team.
- Review VAT files prepared by GL team.
- Review corporate tax filing schedules prepare by GL team to be submitted to tax team.
- Perform continuous assessment of the close process and process re-engineering to reduce the timing to close the financial period.
- Subject matter expert for key systems including suggesting improvement areas.
- Participate in projects as required.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
- CA with at least 10 years of combined Big 4 and relevant commercial experience in financial reporting. Exposure to SEC reporting is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity
- Ability to execute and follow-through completion and documentation
- Experience in SAP is preferred.
- Meticulous and with good attention to details
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines
