ABOUT THE ROLEÂ
Jackson Spalding, an award-winning marketing and public relations agency, is seeking an Account Manager, Client Advisory. The ideal candidate has five to 10 years' experience developing and leading mid-sized client relationships and accounts in an integrated agency setting, including team, project and budget management.Â

RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
In simplest terms, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and growing small to mid-sized AOR-oriented client relationships focused on integrated marketing communications campaigns and always-on initiatives.

Demonstrates strategic and tactical leadership to provide clients with exceptional work products.Â

Serves as a thought partner, strategic peer and counselor for the client resulting in revenue growth and/or meaningful use of additional disciplines.Â

Adept at explaining, teaching and guiding others (clients or internal colleagues) on the marketing funnel. Meaningfully identifies and taps other business units to bring ideas proactively to clients.Â

Possesses the most foundational knowledge of marketing effectiveness as it relates to and impacts the work we do for clients (system 1 and system 2 thinking).Â

Assess client needs and produce clear, cohesive strategic recommendations.Â

Identifies and suggests valuable new opportunities for clients in real-time with them.Â

Project ManagementÂ

Able to develop plans for and manage accounts involving multiple contributors from within and across business units at JS.Â

Assembles and manages a team of cross-functional experts to plan and execute client deliverables with success, on time and on budget.Â

Oversees client budget, results and reporting for large portions, if not all, of the client business, in consultation with other JS teams.
Team ManagementÂ

Adept at onboarding new team members and training others.Â

Responsible for performance management of specified team members, including providing feedback and coaching, and developing skills to optimize individual and team performance.Â

Begins to take responsibility with support for team's allocations and utilization with ongoing staff planning and optimization.Â

Begins to learn more about the business of running a profitable account and team as well as the mechanisms that can impact profitability.
ResearchÂ

Regularly informs and keeps abreast of the state of the client’s business, including business goals and performance, competitive and market landscape.Â
Client AdvisoryÂ

Responsible for winning deliverables, including synthesis of complex information into clear and compelling presentations, POVs, briefs, etc.Â

Ability to lead the creation of an orchestrated, cohesive, winning strategic plan with inputs from other business units as appropriate.Â

Influences exceptional work product by nurturing relationships with critical audiences such as client stakeholders and internal SMEs.Â

Grows client business meaningfully and year-over-year.Â

Introduces and implements integrated services and teams that help clients achieve business goals.Â

Teaches others how to properly diagnose an opportunity.Â

Displays deep knowledge, understanding and application of the marketing funnel to move reputation and revenue together, as well as the ability to teach others.
Presentation and FacilitationÂ

Successfully develops and delivers a winning presentation without assistance.Â

Successfully facilitates client meetings in accordance with JS facilitation principles.Â

Engages clients, regardless of their position, with impact-driven strategies.Â
Business DevelopmentÂ
The ideal candidate will be well-connected and knowledgeable about the West coast and Southwest area maintaining relationships and resources in the market through community and industry involvement, as well as client work.

Responsible for growing business by cultivating relationships with potential and existing clientsÂ

Supports new or existing client business development through writing, presenting and case study development.Â
EDUCATIONÂ
-
Bachelor’s degree requiredÂ
REQUIREMENTSÂ
The ideal candidate has 5-10 years of experience leading and managing accounts of various sizes. Required experience includes, but is not limited to:Â

5+ years' experience with managing integrated client budgets, preferably in an agency settingÂ
-
Mastery level experience with project management principles and toolsÂ
-
Strong written and verbal communication, including messaging and platform/plan development. Has a successful record of compelling & confident presentations in person and virtual, utilizing a mix of presentation toolsÂ
-
Strong business acumen and experience with B2B and B2C industriesÂ
-
Experience with leading through inclusive language and behaviors, optimizing diverse team skills and creating inclusive team dynamics across multiple locations as the project leaderÂ

Experience with effective collaboration skills

Effective time management skillsÂ
This role may require intermittent travel.Â
